Teaching Comparative Literature at the university level is my dream job. But I hear positions are hard to come by. And it just isn't responsible for me to invest huge amounts money into graduate school unless I can put the degree to work somehow.

So, is there a degree I can get that will make me a candidate for a less specific course subject, like English?

Or are there any jobs out there (maybe editing?) that Comparative Literature doctorate holders are particularly qualified for?
