How did you get your start doing assistant teacher work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

NO BUT YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF BETTER QUALIFIED IF YOU CAN GET CERTIFIED AS AN ASSISTANT SOME SCHOOLS ONLY REQUIRE THAT YOU HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. THE TEACHING FIELD IS A REWARDING CAREER. GOOD LUCK

Due to No Child Left Behind you need to get an AAS in Paraeducation. You can get a certificate for the state you live in, but that is being phased out in a lot of areas.

Many community colleges now offer the Paraeducaton degree and they are fun and interesting classes. There is also a large amount of financial aid for this area.

While I was in school for this, I worked as an after school instructor. This is a great way to get to know the school staff and how many things are handled.
