How did you get your start doing assistant teacher work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position? Do you need a particular educational background? |

NO BUT YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF BETTER QUALIFIED IF YOU CAN GET CERTIFIED AS AN ASSISTANT SOME SCHOOLS ONLY REQUIRE THAT YOU HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. THE TEACHING FIELD IS A REWARDING CAREER. GOOD LUCK |

Due to No Child Left Behind you need to get an AAS in Paraeducation. You can get a certificate for the state you live in, but that is being phased out in a lot of areas. Many community colleges now offer the Paraeducaton degree and they are fun and interesting classes. There is also a large amount of financial aid for this area. While I was in school for this, I worked as an after school instructor. This is a great way to get to know the school staff and how many things are handled. |
