Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing?

Where are the jobs? Which places have the most attorney opportunities?

I think the biggest "boom" in the industry is and will continue to be as a contract attorney. More new attorneys want to be their own boss, come and go as they please and want to enjoy life rather than be stuck in an office billing away. I have seen a major shift in recent law school grads going out on their own, but without the huge risk and no income, and are picking and choosing what projects THEY want to work on!
