If a person has extensive experience in related occupations and has certificates showing such but has limited formal education (meaning some college no degree) do you think they might have a chance at attaining an auditor position or do you think not-a-chance? I have other education, gaining a diploma for other schooling and certificates such as in the finance-banking industy and am a State Licensed Insurance Agent.

You need some BA degree. Also the only people that can perform audits are CPA's. Therefore, you must pass your state's CPA test to receive a license. Along with passing your test, you must have 150 hours of college credits, some must be in accoutning and business. You should check into the requirements for your state to become a licensed CPA and once you have finished the requirements, you should be able to do audits of businesses.
