I have a 2002 Saturn SL2. When the engine is running I notice that it is making squeaking noises. I'm not sure if this is due to a belt near the engine that needs to be replaced or some other issue. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Carl

check for cracks in the belt also check if the belt is rubbing on anything......most of the time that means its time to replace the belt

I took my car to Merlin's this morning and they said that I had harmonic balance problems with a pulley (not sure what this means) and an old serpentine belt. Both were replaced and my car's engine sounds great!
