I applied for a teller position at Bank of America and Chase my two top chose of banking industry that I want to work for. I want to know how long it is going to take after you fill out the application until they call for interview or for reject letter in email. I have 1 year of customer service and cash handling experience as a cashier at a restaurant. Do you think I am qualify for the position? |

Yes, you certainly do qualify for the position. But also what's important along with experience is the assessment test. You need to pass that to get called on an interview or the job which ever comes first. I applied to both recently as well, and I am more than qualified for this entry level position. But I got an interview for BAC for which I am still waiting for respond for two weeks now. Chase never bothered to give me a call. I'm assuming I didn't pass the assessment. So remember, you need to pass the assessment test. Good luck. |

I didn't have 1 year Cash Handling experience and I was still hired. You don't NEED 1 year of Customer Service or Cash Handling experience to work there. You want to work at two of the most hated banks. One of my friends works at Bank of America and its the same thing as Chase. The pay is probably a little bit lower. Speaking of Tellers. Good Luck and if you are hired. Be Ready......... |

I know the question was asked a while back... but I just thought I'd comment and say that when I applied to Chase, they called me the very next day. When I applied to Bank of America, they emailed me about a group interview a few days later (about 3) and now I'm going through that process with them. Having a year as a cashier may qualify you, but it also depends on other things like how well you are with conflict resolution and how you would work in certain scenarios - also, don't always take everyone's word with getting hired without all that..it depends on several things including the experience but in some areas, the competition is much greater. The interview I had with Chase was a bit intimidating because I had two managers, a trainer, & someone else all sitting across from me. But my nervous joking helped land me the job ;D |

I have a question about teller training.. what really happens after you do get hired? I have my final interview with my local branch coming up and I am curious about what happens after I get the job (if I do). I am aware there will be some sort of orientation and training, I would just like to know in more detail about these processes. Are these done at the branch at which you were hired or outsourced to another location? How long will this process take? And if anyone has gone through this in the Detroit, MI area it would be great to hear from you! Thank you so much! |

I wanted to post this in a new forum, but thought it sort of fit here... I have an interview for a bank teller position about three weeks ago and it seemed to go well. I like everyone and they seemed to like me. I called back the following Tuesday and the hiring manager told me that they were doing background checks and checking references. She e-mailed and called me the next day to let me know I was "a final candidate". She needed to find out a time to call me back this week "to discuss the position further", but I haven't heard from her yet. It's driving me nuts waiting! Would she ask that if they weren't considering me? I just want an answer! |

My husband recently had his second interview at Bank of America and they said he was the perfect candidate and he should hear something in seven days. He left feeling pretty confidant that he had the job, but it has been a week and he has not heard anything. Will they at least call to let you know if you did not get the job? We don't want to get our hopes up, but he pretty much nailed the interview. |

I've gone to my first interview with customer service manager last Tuesday and she told me that branch manager will call me in two days for the second interview. I've been waiting for their call since then, but I haven't heard anything so far. Now is Thursday of the following week. I tried to call her, but she wasn't on her office so I left a message. She didn;t even call me back what is going on. The only thing I see throught the Company's career site is that they reopen the position to receive further application.

I had a job interviewed last Tuesday at Bank of America. When I got home I received a call from corporate security of Bank of America and asked me a question about my previous job. But he did not informed me if I got the job. And its been 10 days now and I have not heard anything. |

m in Reseda, California said: Does Chase bother to send a rejection letter or email for teller positions? Yes, I got a rejection email right away from Chase, the assessment test was hard but I don't know if that's why I didn't get a chance. Citi bank is way easier to get an interview, but funny thing is I got a rejection letter before I got a phone interview, weird. I don't think I got the second interview, I was very nervous and messed up a lot of my answers to questions. They told me 5- to 10 days waiting period after the phone interview was done to let me know of a second interview, it's been 8 days so far, so I'm not holding my breath. |

you should be lucky that you guys get interviews for bank teller.. in my town everyone expects people to know spanish! Seriously i think that is a form of racial descrimination because youre holding an opportunity from people just because they have no experience in a certain culture! I swaer most of the time i forget that I am living here in America... |

I swaer most of the time i forget that I am living here in America... I thought only California had that problem. Getting interviews does not mean will get the job. By law they have to give everyone a chance and when the time comes they give to someone that is bilingual. And by the way I refuse to learn spanish. |

Why should they pick you if someone with the same experience through out but the other knows 2 languages instead of one? Now a days you have to know more than one language and you forget that english is not the primary language spoken in the US right? There is no primary language in the US. |

The process with Bank of America took over a month. I applied 9 months back and nothing. Then I applied 9 Months later on a saturday and on monday I heard back. Got a phone interview, then set up for a group interview with about 17 other applicants, branch manager interview one-on-one, then 3 weeks later started working. These places will keep your profile for about 3 months and based on your qualifications and what they are looking for, they might or might not call back. I worked for BOA for 14 months and your experience there really depends on your managers as they are all different. Very sales oriented and customer service oriented. Depending on your area, your chances are hired if you know another language. In my opinion (which may vary with other employees) I did not like working at BOA. They changed managers 4 times in less than a year. Some were excellent and others were disrespectful. The pay starting off was $11 for me. Hope this helps! |

I applied to Bank of America for a Sales and Service Specialist a week and a half ago. Last Wednesday I received an email congratulating me for making it to the next step and instructed me to complete an online assesment. I completed the assesment but it never said if I passed or failed. I haven't heard anything since. I am currently a teller for a competitive bank so I do not see how I could fail the assesment. Is it normal for it to take this long? Also, I had a credit card with Bank of America when I was in college that I allowed to go into collections for lack of payment due to young stupidity, could that keep them from hiring me? Like I said I work for another large bank and passed their credit check, but, I never had any credit issues with them. |
