I worked at Bank of America a year ago and now I'm applying for a credit union. Since I stopped working I haven't been able to keep up with my credit card payments, I was wondering does my bad credit mean I wont get hired?

I don't have good credit and the bank i work for hired me. The HR person told me their more concern about things such as bankrupt and theft. I owe a bunch on credit cards too, some have been sent to collections. Hope that helps answer your question.

I hope your comments are true......I have been unemployed for a long time now, but wasn't sure if it was due to my unsecured credit. I also live in a small resort town where jobs are at an even bigger premium....I pray everyday that I can contribute to my family in more ways than just doing the laundry. I'm not ready to retire! Thanks for the hope.

no, it's chase bank. It is for a teller position. I don't have any felonies or anything. I've never even gotten a speeding ticket, but I have been unemployed since 2009 because I had a baby and I did work, but it was seasonal for a month. So, I'm not for sure if they will see that I don't have a criminal background and not have to worry about the credit, as much.

okay...I went for interview few days ago. I sent you a thank you note and the recruiter replied with "thank you for your feedback. We are still in the interview process, but we certainly include you in those we consider for this position", is this good or very general kind of reply. I checked on their website, they don't have the position open anymore though.

Hey there, what ended up happening? Did you get the job? Was the credit check an issue?
