What are typical banquet manager salaries? Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field?

What skills should you learn to increase your salary?

Easiest entry I believe is the old school apprenticeship methods, start young, work your butt off knowing that it (the career) is a marathon and not a sprint. Realize that each company has its own culture and methods, try to discover what they are and align your (method & culture) with theirs. This along with 4 to 6 years of bust'en butt will payoff.

I tried the sprint method; in my case it was unproductive and not as rewarding as I once thought. Skill, results and integrity are the holy grail of income regardless of the company. After 20 years of playing the field I earn a meager 70,000.

A rich career in hospitality I think will produce financial fruits, but I caution anyone to count the costs, the tradeoffs and in many cases a career in accounting Mon – Fri with a side job as a catering assistant is the correct choice.
