Part time biomedical engineering jobs?

I keep reading information about the biomedical field increasing in demand and that it will reach its peak in about 2014 (when I graduate). I would love to have a part time job but always felt this would be a sacrifice I’d have to live with if I majored in BME. However, now I am wondering if any of you know if there’s going to be part time biomedical engineering jobs opening up eventually because hospitals and research centers will be so desperate for work if it is this high in demand?
