How did you get your start doing broker work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

Many of the large global and national wirehouses (firms) sponsor new hires through their series 7 and other licensing upon hire and train new advisors or planners, often referred to as brokers as well over the course of 1-3 year formal development programs. The guidance, mentoring and training and ultimate success of a new financial services professional varies greatly depending upon the company, the individual and the manager and team who bring the new hire on board. The first 2-5 years can be very tough with many not making it in what is really a heavily sales oriented but very lucrative business.

I'd be happy to offer more guidance.. feel free to email me : David@willis-consulting.com
