The reason that i failed it was because after i finished the procedure my resident was laying off her shoulder and than the proctor asked "are u sure that ur done?" and me thinking i did something wrong ended up changing the way i layed her and ended up laying her directly on her shoulder. i was so confident that i had it right the first time but ended up getting intimidated by her :(.. she smiled at me and said come here and have a seat and than turned around and said okay so u need to reschedule ur skills test heres ur papers and let me go... i was sooo upset and wanted to cry but knew that i already passed one just this was a simple mistake that i can fix the next time around...

but all i have to tell you all is that in the state of california the exam wasnt as bad as ppl put it.. it was a piece of cake... just dont get intimidated by the proctor.. and if ur confident about ur answer be confident and dont change it just cause they question u if ur sure ur done..

i learned my lesson today and im confident to go back..

my skills i got was
handwashing (given)
shaving a resident
respiration
putting resident on lateral position

passed the first three with bonus points and failed the last skill...

good luck to u all that are getting ready to take your cna exam...

I took the CNA test today and I wrote down the respirations but I didnt put anything but the number on the paper. Will I fail because I didnt write RESP?

I am confused. The video says one thing, the book something else and the instructor something entirely different. Like ending steps. I think we're supposed to lower the bed to original position then remove privacy last before hand hygeine. The instructor says remove privacy, then lower bed then hand hygeine. What is the state standard.

best answer is think of self when u go to bathroom, wat steps do u follow. Lower bed to lowest position to insure safety, remove the privacy, then wash hands and on to the next. If u wash hands then remove privacy u r suoppose to re wash hands because u might contaminate the next patient, However according to the book u r suppose to wash hands when entering the room wash hands when exiting the room, repeapt steps in every room.

I took my CNA test and I failed twice! It was so frustrating. I cried the second time I failed because I so wanted this. I still have one more chance and I am making sure that I got it this time. Thank you for all your tips, Lisa. I think I know now where I made a mistake. I just don't understand it, what do they mean when they say +4/-4 in checking BP and resp./pulse? Can anyone explain it to me? It is not that I am dumb or whatsoever... maybe it's because I am so desperate in passing this that is why I am missing a thing? Can anyone tell me? Thank you.

Isabella in Buffalo, New York said: Hello everyone took the test a week ago passed both written & skills. It was very easy easy and easy!!! Written is just common sense and skills is what ever you learn. main thing to remember hand washing,Privacy and call light. doesn't matter if you missed something. The instructor knows who are nervous and it a test she is really helpful & want you to pass. I READ THIS SITE B4 TOOK THE test it not that hard at all and you will not fail if u made one mistake even pulse or hand washing, privacy one time but u will have three skills. you should wash ur hand in at least 2 skills. practice all the skills by urself couple time and remember all the linens u used this way the linen will help u remember why u need em. Do not stress urself guys & if u have trouble remembering the skill just use flashcard. Goodluck everyone & once again nothing is hard.

Awww... Grats, Isabella. That was great! Here, they will take note of every mistake that we make, and they failed me twice. Embarrassing but I was so nervous. Making sure that I will pass my last ticket, though. Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it so much...

Lower the bed first, then curtain, then hygiene. We cannot leave the side of the bed unless the patient/resident is safe.... Good luck to us... I am going to take my CNA test, to...

HI, Olga... You can read through Isabella's comment - the one I left a comment, too. The "advice" I was talking about was the one where she said "don't be nervous", because I failed twice (embarrassing)because I was so nervous and when I am nervous I tend to forget things. =((

Good luck to us...

You go to Prometric and they have this practice knowledge test. They have the free one and they also have the paid one which is $10. I took the free one, LOL You'll do fine. Good luck to you...

HI, Olga... yes, it is online... right after I finished all the questions, Prometric will tell us right away if we pass or if we fail. I think that knowledge test is easy... I had to talk to myself like I was demonstrating it, LOL... good thing I was alone in the room. =) I know you got this!!! =)

I actually did my skills today and i passed.they were four in number handwashing included.make sure to wash your hands before touching any supply or the patient.Always remember to raise your bed and lower it when needed and also address the resident correctly.Let the resident know what you are going to do before starting and during the procedure.Provide privacy.Remember to do a safety check before saying you done.
Good luck!
