Hi,
If you want to become a CNA you must complete a state approved program and then pass the state examination. For a free list of all the CNA schools and providers in Texas take a look at www.cnatips.com/classes/nurse-aide-tx.php. There is a helpful map of the state on bottom of page and you can choose to search in your area.

I am a college student thinking about taking cna classes over the summer just to have something to fall back on if I don't find a job w/in my field after graduation. How would this work? I know that the community college in my area has a nursing program. What do you need to get in? Could I use it as a stepping stone to become a LPN or RN? And finally how long does the program last??

in florida you dont have to attend school you can challenge the test thats what i like about it in florida because i did and passed?

Yes willowbrook still gives the cna classes. I took them in 2001 and it took me a month to complete. After about two days of classes you can start working on the floor getting paid while your still taking class.Just give them a call and see. Good luck.
