I live in las vegas and have only been a cna for 4 years. I go to college and major in science. I am just passing through this field. the scecret to being content with this job is to know that It has great limitations of which are money, fulfilment and graditude. Maria, it has nothing to do with wanting to help others take care of yourself first for you are your own patient. Go to school maria and reach for the stars. There is something better for you. sirrom52@gmail.com

on the contray, there are many jobs that pay vary well in the health care field. but not at the entry level. one would have to go to school for at least two to four years.

i can feel your pain. the nurses work the mess out of you. i was 8 months pregnant having preterm labor problems and received no help from the nurses. i put my back out while cleaning a patient. the money isn't much but you do have those patients that keep u goingand they are what make your job easier. I'm taking my full 16 wks maternity leave to regroup before i go back. i have cut my hrs so i can spend more time working in a physicians office where life is better. have u tried private duty its better

look in your local news papers for ads. ask around. there are also agencies out there that hire you only for that. There are a lot of elderly and disabled people who need that one on one attention. I'm glad that I could help u. I'll be praying that u find something.

I've been working in a hospital for a year now. I love my job don't get me wrong, but there are some days now I don't even feel like going. We are overworked and seriously understaffed. I am exausted and my back is killing me everyday. This isn't what I signed up for. I want to help the patients but sometimes thats so hard to do.All I can do is apologize and say there just aren't enough hands to help. I know a hospital has to make money, but don't spend it on flat screen tvs for the patients {they don't even like them) instead spend it to hire a full staff! And a little acknowledgement of our hard work would go a long way!

Maria I feel for you because at 54 and being a cna would be very physcially and emtional draining-I think if you worked in a clinic a doctors office you would still work hard but would like it better-getting your cna and using that skill I say kudos to you-don't give up there is a place for you-if you speak spanish is a plus for so many reasons-pray for guidence, take care
