in north carolina you have to take the test written an skills part again my wife has a colorado license an they making her take it over now she has to take a class cause they fail her 3 times this state is all about money for what they aspect from you they should pay more money cause in colo she was making between 12-15 dollars here they want to start her off with 9.00

I understand ya want to change your CNA licensed from another state to other state...All state require everyone to take the test again or you can go take class...I have 1 license in diffy state. Move from Oregon to North Carolina. I was took exam without class here in north carolina. Everything you do when u were in school is almost same as other state exam. So do not be scare cuz it almost the same. I pass my hand skills test but I fail the written test becuz i have not been study and not work at nursing home for 6 months. So for your answer on this question would be...taken test here or can go school to study NC cna. Thank you

north carolina does not do reciprocity, you have to actually take their state test, if you research the board of nursing for the state you want to move to they will tell you the requirements for reciprocity if they offer it, several states in fact do allow people to transfer from another state, NC just is not one of them.

You would have to go take a refresher course or test out for the cna test it's two parts a written test and then you take a skills part. You can contact the registry to see if they take their transfers but I doubt it. Just look it up online for cna in north carolina.

You would still have to see what their requirements are first then go about it.

I am in Nursing School in WV but I have a CNA 1 and 2 in NC. They expired last year. I went to go renew them and they said my clinicals count for my CNA2 but I have to completly retest for the CNA 1 since I did not get payed for my clinicals....Please explain that to me!! It is nothing but a money scam!!

you may want to go to the unemployment commission there in Fayetteville NC which is located on Ray Avenue off of Grove Street I know this area I was located in Fayetteville before i moved to South Carolina try that and see if they can help you and your wife.

If I was you I would call in North Carolina first to see if they will honor your certication because if not I think you may have to go to school in North carolina to be certified because each state has different ways and laws of the way they do things so just ckeck in it first before making your move it may save you money and time.

you can check out the NCBON...they explain to you what steps you have to take. To be a nurse aide I (CNA's from other states)...you have to either take a state approved class and test or you can take a state competency test without taking a class. There are a lot of places like CNANOW! located in NC that send you self study materials and then you take the skills/written test on a Saturday. You have to be careful with these programs when it comes to pursuing your career beyond a CNA (i.e. lpn/rn/etc). Most colleges in NC have caught on and now before you can enroll/compete for the RN program....you have to have TAKEN a NC approved CNA program WITH ClINICALS/LAB/CLASS HOURS. Most of the LPN programs do not require the CNA class as a prereq.

no that is not possible they are trying to scare you unless you signed saying that you would not have contact with your clients for so long then there just scaring you. I took care of clients in a facility and when I left I went straight into taking care of them at there home instead of threw this other facility I got paid more and from medicaid.. Which was very nice . I hope this helps...
