Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing?

Where are the jobs? Which places have the most call center supervisor opportunities?

I think that jobs in this industry are on the rise again after so many companies outsourced their call center, some of them are starting to pull their call centers back into the U.S. I know that here in Atlanta, Atlanta Gas Light recently relocated their call center or a small portion of it back in the U.S. with the intention to come back permanently. I have been in this field for 15-20 years in various positions. The new frontier now seems to be health care call centers which requires both health care knowledge but also call center management knowledge. I have done a little work in this area but because it is a new frontier, it is very challenging to get the health care side of the business to understand the call center side of the business. So it appears there are still some kinks to work out in that arena. My hardest task is re-entering the call center management on a supervisory or managerial level. For the last 2 years I have been trying to re-invent myself or rebuild myself as a supervisor/manager. Because the last 2 positions I have held have been on an entry level; no one seems to want to give me a chance at management again.

As for where the jobs are I would say that they are in the Midwest and Southwest because the cost of living is cheaper.
