I would recommend submitting your application to www.mycaregiverjob.org they will match you with the right family and make sure you get the best rate. They get your first week pay once they get you started as thier fee.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL! Avoid questionable work offers!

Seeing that several other people have posted on this topic with offerings for nannies abroad, I would advise NANNIES to be careful when choosing your agency. Here are a few pieces of advice to help you avoid suspicious agencies:

-Don’t fall for promises of huge salaries!
Please keep in mind that the salary of a live-in nanny is stipulated by the law and it is $9/hour in the province of Quebec and $10/hour in Ontario. The maximum number of hours a nanny is allowed to work is 40/week in Quebec and 48/week in Ontario. Also, you have to know that in Quebec employers are not allowed to deduct the cost of room and food from your pay, meaning that you get all the money you earn, while in Ontario they can subtract $370/month from your salary.

-Don’t believe in the “right away” employment opportunities!
Don’t let agencies fool you that they have employers staying in line to hire a nanny from abroad. Regular Canadian families prefer to hire a nanny who is already here because they need to have a nanny right away. Only if they have time to wait, they will be willing to sponsor somebody from abroad. If you are told that agencies have families willing to hire you right now, you must be very careful as this kind of families are probably seeking cheap workforce, a nanny to work night and day, something that they cannot find if they hire in Canada. Serious agencies have databases of nannies so if an employer wants a nanny from abroad right away, they offer one who is already in the database first, before posting on the internet “I have a family for you right away”.

-Pay attention to the screening process!
As you probably know, each province in Canada has set its own rules concerning the caregiver program, therefore agencies have to pre-screen each candidate in order to assess if they can place her with a family. It’s impossible to be told “I have a family for you” even before seeing at least the applicant’s resume.

-Make some research about the agency!
If you see that the agency’s address is something@yahoo.com or @hotmail, no real business e-mail, think twice before you confide your future in Canada to them! Also, make sure the agency has a good reputation among other nannies and families.

-Placement fees and upfront payment!
Ask about the placement fees and make sure you are offered a refund in case things don’t go the way they should. Compare agency fees and make sure that the fee is honest (avoid those $5,000 or even more that some nannies pay to ghost-agencies). Also, NEVER, but NEVER pay the placement fee or any part of it in advance!

-Work in Canada through a Canadian agency!
Generally, Canadian families who want to hire a nanny in good faith will hire a Canadian agency to find them the right candidate. They don’t use agencies abroad as they want to make the process as simple as possible. Therefore, think twice if you want to come to Canada through a foreign intermediary.

Dont fall in the trap to go to other provices like Quebec, as you all know Greater Toronto area is multicultural and you dont need to know French but for Quebec one of my friends went there and she was totally lost as all the signs were in French and when she wanted to change the employer as the agency in Quebec had provided wrong info of employer it was a pain and eventually she had to go to Toronto.

If there is a reference for multiculturalism in North America, apart from New York, that’s Montreal, where there is also a strong Filipino community. French language is not a problem, since you can take classes if you want and your employers are encouraged by the government to pay for them. And even if you don’t speak French, you can understand what’s written. However, employers speak English to their nannies and we have never heard of nannies having problems with or because of French. Moreover, Quebec is among the least affected by the financial crisis, which is another plus for your job stability.

they placement fee of 5000canadian dollar from applicant outside canada.

Rakela has an agency but she has a very bad reputation of enslaving nannies after asking them huge fees. If my memory serves me right, it's her agency that placed the nannies mentioned in the articles (links) above. She works for a certain ethnic community that is known for abusing nannies and underpaying them. I won't advise you to go with them under no circumstances. And the fee you mentioned is absolutely criminal. Normal professional agencies would charge you less than 1/3 of that. thanks for the great adviced i already knw about their case...but bit confused if you going to talk with their staff and you visit their website they claimed that they have an excellent service award.I want to know if they are really proven by the canadian authortities that they real practice those maltreament to their employees?And if they proven why not the government of toronto close that agency?

There is no mention about who awarded her this "excellent service award". If you read the following article, you will see that the owner of the agency "gave herself" this award, allegedly "at the urging of a group of nannies". It's so ridiculous:) But what's tragic is that a lot of nannies fall in her trap and discover later what "best service" means in reality. The Canadian authorities have made efforts to limit this kind of practice but bad agencies always come up with means to avoid the law. Why they're not closed? Maybe because no nanny has the courage to sue them or maybe because agencies like that might have political support.
