Weekly pay, plus free room and board, as well as free utilities.

My first experience as a caregiver was in the State looking after a Man who had Cancer then he passed away after two and a half monthes then covered shift for friends an families so they can have there days off. I worked for a Lady who had a stroke on her left side an a Man who had Parkinson an early Alzheimer's. I worked for him for a 3 monthes then returned back to NZ to try an apply for my husband PR. I am prepared to come an stay for as long as you want me to stay and work for...

I actually got lucky. She had posted on this site and then a friend had recommended a friend of hers and it just turned out to be the same gal. It helped that my friend knew her so of course it made my decision after interviewing her easier. I also tried United Way, etc. Although some of the places they referred me to were way out of our range. All I could offer was $275 a week, plus free groceries, utilities and room and board. I wish you luck. Connie :)

Thanks for responding... Oh.. ok.. lucky you. I've been searchig for 2 years now.. and still no luck.. I've been getting responses but they're all from out of the country and I need one asap and here in the US, preferably in Nevada. What other sites did you look at, if you don't mind me asking? I'm just at a loss. I hate sending my Mom out of the country to be cared for, I'd really like her to be much, much closer. Does your friend have anyone else she knows? And I'm in the same boat you are, can't really afford to do more than what you were offering as well. All the agencies or what not are $240 a day! And in this economy, NOONE can afford that!

I'm not sure how your colleges there work, but some here have students that are interning in the Nursing/Medical field and are willing to work for little pay as well as free room and board. So I would check with the colleges and see if they have anything like that. There are also daycares for adults, but they tend to get pricey as well. Last resort for us was going to be a home and/or a care and board facility. That second one is a home setting with 5-6 elderies with similar health issues and the caretakers live on site with them. It was a better option then the nursing home hospital set up. If I find any other sites or Rhonda (caretaker) has any friends/associates that are available and willing to relocate, I'll definitely let you know.
