How did you get your start doing certified medical assistant work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

Education & Grants in Frisco, Texas

As an experienced adult I need to re-train into another industry due to the fact that the job descriptions of my current area and potential areas require substantial travel.

What Grants are available for FEMALES over 40 for education?
I have a Bachelors of Business already. I do not feel an MBA will be of specific benefit to any area I wish to grow/learn in. A 2nd Bachelor of Arts or Science and then a Masters in that area would be of interest. I need a grant to pull it off.

Any ideas?

Definitely work for a while! If you can, then take classes while you are working-even better! Working in the field before going into RN will give you some much desired medical skills-terminology,injections, phlebotomy, pharmacology, and you will learn how to be compassionate with people-having real world skills like these will make you a better nurse in the long run, may help you get a job faster after graduating with your RN, and will make nursing school a little easier!

Texas- Dallas Multiple Huge Downsizings in Frisco, Texas

It depends on your financial situation. Do both if you can.
Technical type schools surve their purpose but are not weighted highly beyond the moment in time of completion. After a few years the hiring depts won't even notice it. It's as if the schooling doesn't exist!

The AA and then the Bachelors degree from an Accredited college or University will hold forever. You can also building on it again and againg over time after you finish your initial areas of interest.

A Bachelor degree is not carrying about the same current weight as a High School degree carried 25 years ago.

With all the downsizings and unemployment in cycles of about 3 years for the last 10 years existing working people of all ages have returned to college for added education. In addition, when the job market is terrible new college graduates of Bachelors degrees frequently stay in college and get a Masters degree.

The result is a huge abundance of Master degree level ordinary people. It's a common degree now.
