I AM LOOKING FOR A PLACE THAT GIVES FREE TRAING FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN NOT PAY FOR CNA COURSE. I AM ON PA AT THIS TIME AND WORKED AS HHA AND LOOKING FOR MORE WORK STABILITY.

Try the Adult Learning Center. Its located at
Bronx Adult Learning Center. 3450 East Tremont Ave., Room 323, Bronx, NY 10465. Phone number is 718-863-4057. I took my classes at ABC, but I looked into these before I went. The reason I did not go there is because the classes dont start until September. Also, someone in my class was taking the ged classes over there and said the classes are done on a computer. If that is the case, you may want to consider that in choosing your school. Because for state boards, you will need to do a written and a skills test. Practice hands on makes things easier than seeing on a computer or reading a book. Good Luck to you!

Since you have HHA experience I would try to apply for a grant through Workforce 1. They are located on 149th. Its located between 3rd ave and Lincoln Hospital. (sorry I forget what that street is). The process can be extensive, but it's well worth it!Good Luck!

There are Adult Learning Centers through out the city. Theres one in Harlem (155/8th) at the Polo Grounds.The D train will take you right to its door step. There is another on Tremont, the 36 bus will take you to that one. You can call them at 718-863-4057 classes start in September here. I believe you can start anytime in Harlem. Good Luck!

I called the bronx learning center and they keep hanging up on me. I would like to find a cna program that costs under 850. I am willing to travel throughout new york city, preferably one that is no longer than 8 weeks. Thanks in advance!

If there is anyone looking for cna training and can't afford it. If you're on PA you can go to workforce 1 and register for a grant up to 2500 to pay for your class. New Age training accepts vouchers for from Hra, workforce one and other government agencies. New age training is located on 500 west 35th street and 8th ave they have cna training, the number is 212-947-7940 12th flr

a few people told me to contact nursing homes that will provide u the training but all the ones i've called dont do it. if you know of a nursing home that does this please let me know.

If you are interested in becoming an EMT ( emergency medical technician to work on an ambulance including the city why dont you try Bronx eoc on 1666 Bathgate ave in the bronx the course is free once they look at your finacial situation. <Edited by Host: contact info removed>

For those who are looking for cna training and can not pay for it, you can go to workforce one located in all five boroughs in New York. They offer grants for training programs it takes up to three weeks for the grant and its for $2500. Good Luck

starting in january you can go to workforece 1 at 358 east 149 street in Bromx. If you have any health job background they can pay for you to go to ABC

i worked for 5yrs in a clinic in a city hospital in manhattan i was told that in order to come to the job i need to be cerificated for cna i was a nurses aide, i took the on line and got my diploma as a nurses aide, is this good to get a job as a n/a can someone tell me and if not can some tell me where can i go for one. thanks god bless u all.
