I live in Oregon and here they start at about $15.00 per hour. There is a real shortage for nurses and CNA's up here, so they tend to make more. |

Hello all, I've just finished my CNA program and successfully passed the California Certify test. I've also took the CNA/Acute course, because I really wanted to work for the Hospital. To my surprise, it seems so hard to get a job around where I live (Ontario, California). It's been 2 months now and I've applied for multi locations at Hospitals and Long term nursing homes within the San Bernardino and West Covina areas, but not even one call back for an interview. Anyone here know any CNA reputable Agencies temp/permanent jobs that I can contact? I appreciate your time in reading my rant, but I've so frustrated of not getting a job. |

Male CNA in Montclair, California said: Hello all, Ohh my god! I have a big headache from applying for jobs during the entire month online. I don't know why these facilities have online applications when they don't even RESPONSE to applicants.I've finally landed a job down the street from where I live. I had 3 interviews and all really wanted me to work for them. Here is my advice to all new cna grads; please don't bother filling out job applications online, I've found it to be a waste of time. What I did was put on my slacks, white long sleeve dress shirt, and a tie just to visit these facilities and asked for job applications. When they see you dressed up they will be very interested in you and will give you the interview on the spot! Most of the places I've visited didn't bother asking about what I've learn in my clinical experience ( maybe it's because the way I presented myself and what not)and offer a job on the spot! Now we know that many of us just got our certificate and don't have work experience besides our clinical, but do not let that be a negative impact on you: instead let it be a POSITIVE impact. You know if given a chance to get hire that you're an asset to these facilities. As long as you know your scope of practice and law ethics, and are compassionate about the people you provide care fore. |

Too many immigrants willing to work for little to nothing just to obtain a job. There is no unity here, it's all about one for all and all for one. CNA wages will NEVER increase the way it's going on in California with the declining economy things is not likely to improve for a LONG time. |

I have been searching high and low and seems like either the vocational schools are selling the gold, or the program is not reputable. I have been having a hard time choosing a school that will prepare me for the state test... Thanks :) |
