Do you have any tips to help prepare for an upcoming certified nursing assistant interview? Are there common interview questions that come up again and again? |

I bought a skirt suit, very professional which I would like to wear. I am a bit concerned that I would be over dressed.

What would that be? Casual, neat, on the conservative side.
I am beginning my CNA job search this coming week. Wish me luck!

To Rene in Wisconsin. Actually I lived on the east side while I went to QHO in Wauwatosa and I do not have a car either. I would take 2 buses. Oakland bus to downtown, off at Wisconsin Ave. Then there is a bus which goes west, down Wisc.Ave,zig-zags around and leaves you off directly in front of QHO in Wauwatosa. Give them a call they will tell you exactly which bus drops you off in front. Also call Milwaukee Co. transit system, they will give you the most direct route for you. Sophia in Chicago. |

To those wanting to wear white or scrubs to an interview, please don't. Yes, you may wear them every day if you get the job, but when you are interviewing you want to show the company that you are a professional and serious about working for them. Nice slacks and a dress shirt should be fine, a suit may be overkill but I don't think it would hurt you. Some questions I experienced while interviewing for a CNA position (in Texas and Virginia) are things like:
And many other work-related questions relating to safety and whatnot. Be confident in yourself. If you know you can do this job and you think that you and the company are a great match, show it to the interviewer. Good posture, eye contact, and a firm handshake are some of the most important tools in an interview. And always be polite (please, thank you, you're welcome...)! Try not to use slang and 'like' and 'uh' and 'um'. Practice talking without those for an hour beforehand, its hard... but it makes you sound so much more professional! One last thing... always send a thank you letter after the interview. It may seem old fashioned, but it will help you stand out in a sea of applicants. Seriously. Do it. |

Host said: Do you have any tips to help prepare for an upcoming certified nursing assistant interview? If you are applying in the medical field, including CNA, acceptable dress for an interview is your scrubs! Its worked for me every time. Dont over complicate it! |
