I'm fixing to graduate with a BS from a university with Child Development and Family Studies. I really have a heart for disabled/developmentally delayed children and would love to work with them. There are a few facilities here, that are my dream jobs for this area and it looks as though achieving them would be more likely if I did a certified occupational therapy assistant program. I'm wondering if there are some COTAs in this area that could tell me about the process. I'm not wanting to do an Associates since I'll already have my BS, but I'm wanting to do the certificate program. And I'm just wondering how long that usually takes and what all it entails and licensing, etc.

Any testimonies and advice is greatly appreciated and educational program suggestions!
