Should I be a COTA?

I live in Queens NY and I'm thinking about becoming a COTA. I read and hear all kinds of things about the profession. Mostly good things. Before I decide to go to school for it I want to shadow someone who is already in the field. Can someone suggest how I can find a COTA that can let me follow him/her around for a day or two? It has to be in NYC.
