What are the top 3 traits or skills every character artist must have to excel?

Can you suggest any tips or insights to develop your character artist expertise?

Silhouette. This is what will make thake character interesting or not

Gravity. Look at a crappy character compared to a good character.
The main thing you will notice is that one feels more "grounded" or "affected" by gravity. Giving the character weight and believe-ability.

If you can draw or gesture characters its a huge bonus too. but not the end of the world if you cant. Although I have yet to meet a character artist whom could not draw....
