Cal State Fullerton has developed an online claims examiner extension training program (non-credit). Given the state of the economy, with many people looking for more rewarding work, re-career or came back from retirement, as well as demand for qualified examiners, It looks to be a good career option. Average salaries in 2007 for Claims Examiners were over $57,000/year, and there is demand in most parts of the country. See the CSUF extension website under Programs (csufextension.org).
