Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing? Where are the jobs? Which places have the most coldfusion developer opportunities? |

I find that good CF developers are getting hard to find as we tend ot keep our jobs. I have 10 years expereince as a CF developer and I am always getting recruiters calling me for positions...both permanent and contract. I am currently permanently employed in the city of Chicago. CF's big problem is not a technical one. The problem lies in the really poor marketing job on the part of the companies that have owned it. There is a perception that CF is passe or a legacy technology, when in fact it is an evolving, yet stable technology. CF8 really showcases CF's flexabilty. I see a lot of companies in he Chicago area that use CF. We also have a strong CFUG to supprt the CF community here, which I think is key. If you have some expereince and are looking ofr a CF job in he Chicago area and can't find one, then you just are not looking in the right places ;-) |
