How did you get your start doing Communications Manager work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

I have headed up public relations in a communications agency. I have been a writer, an editor and proofreader for many years and have excellent experience in customer service. Right now I work part-time at a temporary job for the West Palm Beach Library Foundation, doing fundraising, PR, writing and helping to plan events. I don't understand why I can't find a full-time job.
