What are typical companion salaries? Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field?

What skills should you learn to increase your salary?

Companion/Care giver jobs salaries Could range from $6.75 to $20 an hour depending on the experience, and certifications. Agencies that act as the employers pay from $7.00 to $10.00 and hour. $85 to $100 a day for live in. Very few of these agencies may pay more than this, up to $15 an hour. This may be for cases were they may need a male companion because lifting may be involved or they may need and LVN. These agencies charge the clients from $20 to $30 an hour and pay you 50% or Less. Referral agencies may help you to find a better paid job from $10 to $18 an hour and for live in from $120 to $200 but you have to find the right agency and you should have very good references, letters of recomendation and in most cases they require at least two years of experience and they will check your backgraound. You have to be patient with finding a job through a referral agency because they are having a lot competion from the agencies that act as the emplyers. You could try to find a a good job on you own but may take a while. You could try to become a CHH and earn from $12 to $15 an hour but not as a companion. There is no much future in the Care giver business unless you became an LVN, CHH or You would be lucky to find a high profile family who could pay you $4,000 to $6,000 a month plus benefits, paid vacations and main holidays. I used to work for one and I know of other companions that have been lucky as well. Those jobs are not always easy to find. Good Luck
