1. Be under 40
2. Have an MBA
3. Know something about accounting.
4. Be good at politics as that is mostly what the job entails.

I couldn't disagree more...
Age - irrelevant
MBA - overrated
Politics -yes but not most important.
Most important is the capabily
and experience to "step into" the owners/equity's shoes.
To build value through smart business management.
Experience is the most important (perhaps only) teacher.
