Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field? What skills should you learn to increase your salary? |

I worked for a compnay called Intermagnetics however Philips bought us out and the travel delpartment went to American Express - however I worked only for the company in Latham , NY and was making 45,000 per year plus benefits - now I'm unemployed - YUCK! A vacation agency just offered me 12.00 per hour and I said no - I'd rather be a deli clerk than get paid 12.00 for something I was extrememly good at and loved - I have been an agent for over 30 years - |

I just found this site. I have been a corporate agent for about 20 years and leisure also. It's really tough out here. I'm trying to move into concierge and or event planning. Just can't seem to get a break. The last company I was with folded. Applying on line is so impersonal. Most times you never hear anything back.If any one has any news on any positions plesae let me know. Sometimes it's who you know and not what you know. Cheers~ |

The average in LA is about $50K. Most people seem to make between $47K and $52K. The higher ones are generally with large TMC's, but not necessarily megas. The smaller agencies sometimes pay less. I hope this helps. If you work in the city you can earn more than outside the city. Also, if you service the east coast, you salary will be on the higher end because your hours will be later. |
