How did you get your start doing counselor work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

My counseling work came by an ad in the news paper from a community organization that had received a federal grant for program titled Juvenile Delequency prevention Program. The basic qualification were a B.S. Degree and some teaching experience. I had the degree and had taught in public and private schools.
While working I went to graduate school and received a M.S. in Guidance Counseling.

well I do not have a degree but I have almost 20 yrs working with disabed and mental adults through my jobs. how can I get a job with my exerience in sonoma county ca?Can you help me.Thank you Polly.
