What is the best training for becoming a credit & collections manager? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective credit & collections manager? What do non-traditional career paths look like? |

Some would say education, but I would strongly disagree. Experience in Credit & Collections is the ticket, years of dealing with the situations that arise in the position. A college degree can get you in the door, but without experience a degree is worthless |

I strongly agree. NACM Certifications are helpful. But stay away from hack imitations like the PACM. Run by a guy named Harold in Western PA the guy is a fraud!! |

I agree with Pam... being a collections agent is not easy... to answer Karen... yes.. you can get entry-level training for collections.. I just completed some online training classes with the NACA at www.CollectionsAgent.org I hope this helps. Betty P. |
