What do non-traditional career paths look like?

Most companies want bank trained credit analysts but will accept certifications like the CCB, CCE, etc as well as experience.

You can go to NACM.org or www.rmahq.org for information on certifications. Also check with prominent banks in your area to find out what training companies or programs they use.
