I will answer your second question. In general, a developer is more like an analyst, translating the business requirements into a psuedocode-like specification for the application - in this case Crystal Reports. A designer is like a draftsman, the person who creates the report with Crystal Reports. The developer may determine that there is not enough information in the system to sopport the report, and may specify that an additional table be needed. They may task you with that if you have the skills, or they may sub that out to someone else so that the table is available for your use. The table needed may be a view (sometimes known as a logical table as opposed to a physical table), or the table may need to be populated (phyical)by an application or a trigger in the database. I hope this information is of use to you. Hal |
