Hello my name is Keely. I went to school in 99 to Concorde career Institute for dental assisting. I graduated and have not had much luck. I did my externship and worked for one orthodontist but did not have a very good experience. I am looking to work for a dentist that would be patient with me and definitley show me the ropes! Anyone have any advice??? Where to look for a job???

hi keely, dental assisting can be rewarding if u have a passion for the profession. dont let one negative experience scare you off. i started my career in 1991 with a temporary placement service, it was challenging, but had its pluses. i got to work in many offices with very nice dentists and eventually landed a great job. go into it with a smile and a lot of energy and always stay busy while on the job and learn all u can. u will do fine. good luck.

no you don't have to be a dental assistant to be a orthodontic assistant. they just have differnet duties than a assistant that works in a general practice. but in all its all the same. its pretty much all the same your an assistanteither way.
