rhaley84 in Paterson, New Jersey 4 months ago	Hi, im a dental assistant with an x-ray license and i grguated from a dental assistant school in 2006 and i was able to land one job that only lasted six months, due to few hours i dont wanna give up but without experience noone wants to take a chance i dont know what to do. I have been kinda picky where I would like to work which has been to my detriment. I had a wonderful dentist to work for in Washington State and had to leave to come here. I have 12 years experience in expanded functions although am not able to perform the expanded functions in Texas. If you know of any openings I would appreciate the help too.... A great office to work in is sometimes hard to find. I have had the opportunity to work for two wonderful dentists, but there are not so nice ones either. You may want to apply to different fields of dentistry. perio,endo,ortho oral surgery, i knew a girl who worked part time in different offices a few days a week. That way you make yourself more valuable and it looks good on your resume! you may want to let them know you can be called if someone goes on vaca, out sick..get your name out there..stop in and leave your resume..that way they have a face with the name. these days you need to market yourself and make it known you are eager to work! If your lack of having experience is really getting to you. You may want to try and get into a practice with larger staff that way you have time to learn and observe how it works. I know how it feels to not have experience. I was just thrown into oral surgery! 16 years later...I am a Certified Oral Surgery Assistant for the past 10 years! Keep trying! michellemuncie in New Bern, North Carolina 9 days ago	I just moved here to NC from oh and I got out of school for DA. I need to get my x-ray certificate here in NC and I have no idea where to go.
