My husband has worked as a dental hygienist for nearly 9 years. Two years ago, his dentist retired and he lost his job. He has worked off and on since then but cannot find full-time employment. Jobs are nonexistent in the Nashville area. I am a teacher and cannot relocate until the summer months since we both need to find sufficient employment.

We have been considering making the big move since I will be able to find a teaching job easily and we feel there may be more hygiene opportunities in the DC area.

Can anyone confirm the job market for hygienists in DC? From what I've read, there are not enough hygienists there. Is this true?
