I'll venture to say it would be a tremendously negative factor. Direct interface with customers in ANY business requires a professional and neat appearance. All that first impressions stuff you've read about, ya know?

Besides, what will patients think? You are an employee of the dentists and possibly able to get a discount on dental services there yet the practice is unable to solve your rather simple dental problem? I, for one, would turn and walk out the door immediately.

Would you have your hair done in a salon where you were greeted by a person with a terrible hairdo?

i say just before you go into work , just keep you a loaf of bread in the car, eat 2 pieces of bread , and then they won't focus on how stained your teeth are , they will be wondering if you ate a sandwich before you came to work .....won't think a thing ...

it would be an issue for some places. but not a deal breaker. if you truly had great organizational skills and worked hard a dr. could over look the image for the hard work just be sure to over do the other features you have like dress very nice and always have your hair and make up done up. wear pale shades of lipstick to distract. we have dental assistants with bad teeth and we have reps that come in to sell ortho who have crooked teeth so its okay at some places. that is not saying its not noticed or talked about thou.

Your comment seems silly and inappropriate. How about recommending that the person look to improve their smile through a Dental School (as a patient, etc.), at least work on fixing the anterior teeth (max. and mand.), then go from their if the Dentist hires her/him...

Go to the grocery store and buy some white-strips and use them. This will help whiten your smile.

And... if your skills are superlative, your boss (the dentist) will help you whiten your teeth.
