Yes some companies appreciate their workers and compensate them accordingly. Larger corporations tend to have structured salary maximums and are not flexible. I'm currently making $60K annually at this job I started 2 months ago in Nov'11. Previously I was making $62,500 per yr. Definitely learning Lean Concepts will help you in today's economy where companies are focusing on quality, shortening lead times and of course saving money at the same time.
