Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field?

What skills should you learn to increase your salary?

I would be interested to find out what a Gift Officer would make at a private well endowed college? And given that I have 20 years of work experinece( but not in the field of Development)with transferrable skills, what is the bottom line going in for this position?

depends on your experience and where it is located. i am in my late 20s and have six years of experience, four being in development. i work for a small liberal arts college that is not well endowed. my current salary is $55k. i also interviewed at a well endowed school down in texas and the salary was $65k. The minimum I have seen for solid private schools is about $45k.
