Is a career change to a diesel mechanic a good choice |

It depends. Do you have much mechanic experience? Do you have any tools? More than a handymans toolbox. What kind of shape are you in? A diesel mechanic job will not let you starve to death if you avoid commission(flag) work. But it can and probably will beat you up and work you half to death. If you aren't mechanically inclined, don't like to work outside, I'd say no. If you serious, just find a place that is hiring APPRENTICE mechanics and try it out. Six months wont kill you, and shops are used to people coming and going. Just stay off the tool truck until your certain thats what you want to do. |

Man, i'm 24 and trying to get into this diesel program in vincennes indiana, i went to see the school and everything was great. don't let nothing stop you from making more money... do what you feel is right, and you can make $ 15 starting out, so yeah it's a GREAT idea. |
