Need to know if the position entails; events coordinator, activities director and development director. Should the position consist of just writing for grants or fundraising too? What is the typical commission on a grant of around $3000.00? Location - New Mexico.

rate of pay is usually dependent upon the organzations budget, the job scope, the type of industry (university, social services, arts...) Obtaining your CFRE helps elevate your salary.

Responsible professional fundraisers do not work on commission. Go to the Association of Fundraising Professionals website and read their ethics policies.

There are various types of Directors of development, for example in this computer age Architect is no longer a construction position it is also a computer geek, Some development are computer oriented and some are building development oriented, others are orchestrating a whole source of trades related to the maintenance of a resort, hote, university or complex. I believe that a differenciation is needed to clarify what industry that job is in some sort of qualification like BLDG-Director, or IP Director, or Sales-Director of development, etc. Otherwise it is wasting everyones time to keep searching through the entire lists.
