Do you have any tips to help prepare for an upcoming director of internal audit interview?

Are there common interview questions that come up again and again?

If you have an audit committee get them involved in the interview process. Choose a good cross-section of interviewers from the organization. Ask questions using Stanards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. Many of the standards can be translated into great interview questions.

If you are able to comment on each area in the job description (how your background is a match based on specific experiences) you are 90% of the way home.

my wife just applied for a director position with the company she works for, even after she basicly saved the company from BK, they are saying she doesnt have a prayer. Currently she is a manager over a 40-50 million dollar AR, she is very damn good at her job. She is so good that the last company almost fell apart when she left, she is that good, and she knows how to bring in the collections and AR, and if you are doing your part for the company or your unproductive, or a trouble maker, she will fire you.
