What is the best training for becoming a dispatcher? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective dispatcher? What do non-traditional career paths look like? |

I have been working in Dispatch for my company for 5 Years. Ongoing training needs to be in all maps and trips software your company uses, most places require a CDL, not to drive but it proves you know DOT laws, and also a good knowledge of Microsoft Office Products because that is standard in most places. As far as applying and getting the job, field experience will help you get the position as well as just actually talking to the managers.
