Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field?

What skills should you learn to increase your salary?

Typically Engineering companies pay less than being on the client side. I have heard ranges from $10.00 to $35.00 at Engineering companies depending on your experience/skill level. This range includes small companies which pay less and large Engineering companies which can afford to pay more. Major Oil and Gas companies pay a little more and depending if you travel and where you go for the company may increase you wage.
