Dump Truck work in Florida is horrible! Owner operators are going bankrupt, losing their homes - it is a nightmare. Jobs are extremely underbid, contractors are not paying or checks are bouncing. Anywhere but here I would say. |

I am not suggesting you move again. I know people in Florida. If i hear of anything I will let you know. Mean time pray. I will too:) |

I know Mack, I wasn't saying you were suggesting that. I was just responding to the post asking if he should move to Florida. Thanks for the prayers, I try to have hope, but my hope has run dry. I go for says without sleep, my immune system feels like it is shutting down, I look sick and feel sick, I think all due to this stress. My family is miserable. My family is so depressed, that they just isolate themselves when home, so it's not like we are coping through this together. Everyday I try to find answers, I try to end this hell. I stopped my life because to try to help with this business, but it is scary and disappointing. I see a lot of businesses bankrupt. Many of the numbers I call are disconnected. People don't want to pay. People try to chew you down in price like you have control of the price of material. You can't have REAL friends in this industry because EVERYONE is two faced and like vultures when it comes to work. EVERYONE. Every day I see my life pass me by so fast. I don't even feel like I am me anymore. We've went by 2 XMAS'S & NEW YEARS miserable with NOTHING. I wished everything would just get better so I wouldn't feel sick anymore. I feel like there is no time to go to a doctor. I wish I could go to college, and be able to come home not worried about this business & bills. I wish I could live my life, but I feel drowned in pressure and stress of this business. A lot of responsibility and stress is put onto me because of this business. I am so young with only these health problems multiplying and I feel like everyone is so miserable in this house to care, but just isolate themselves or take their anger/stress out on me. I have no car or license or money of my own. I help with this business to help my help my family to try to make everything better again, but it seems like that day will never come. I wished I could be me again. |

I would say now is not a good time. I developed a website called dumpmatch to help people with dump trucks find work. I have a lot of people with trucks loving the idea, unfortunately, all of the contractors I talk to about posting work on the site say they don't have enough to even keep their own trucks on the road, much less owner/operators. I think by late 2008 we should see the situation become a lot better, but that is still a long way away. |

Blah blah blah. There is work for the trucks if you know how to work it like a HOE and spread your self out a bit more. Dont give up, it will get better for this business very soon with all the proposed cunstruction thats been recently approved. Its busy in Texas and Louisiana and running 7 days a week around the clock for the next 3-5 years. |
