I'm just hoping someone out there can help and give me some ideas. My husband has been a truck driver for 13 years. He got into his first accident on 12/22/11. No one was hurt in the accident. Thank God! He was fired from his job, due to the accident. Does anyone know of a trucking company that might hire him? |

Your husband is going to have a tough time finding a job because the accident is very recent. He's going to have to wait at least 3 yrs.You go to some of the websites even these recruiting sites, they all say no accident or tickets in at least 2 yrs. Most say 3 to 5 yrs.Insurance companies are the ones why approves or disqualifies a driver and no insurance company is going to take the risk hireing him.He could try a smaller company and O/O or driving around his area and go have a talk with a trucking company. But finding one online, very doubtful. |

Yes he is having a tough time finding a job. One trucking company said no, but he could apply in 30 days and another trucking company said they would hire him in a year. I think it really sucks because he's done this for 13 years and just had one accident recently. Sooner or later every truck driver is going to have an accident when they drive so many miles. Thanks for the advise. |

Thanks for the advise.I know it sucks he can't find a job. Many things about the trucking industry sucks.A driver has one accident or anything in a certain amount of time and your carreer is over for awhile. This industry is very unforving. |

That is horrible. I hope you find a job. Doesn't sound like your situation is fair at all either, especially when the accident wasn't your fault. |
