Maybe it's me but isn't what we do a profession and not just a skill. Many companies think the drivers are skill worker and pay us like that, but actually we are professional. We have to get certified license , we have to keep records , logs, and keep our medical up to date. Plus if we don't drive the trucks to deliver whatever material to there dropoff how would it get there. We are a major part of distributing, so pay us like we desrve to be paid. I know a lot of you probably feel the same way but scared to say so. We as CDL Truck Driver must stand together to get paid. If you go to college to be a doctor, lawyer, teacher, nurse, etc., aren't you looking to receive the pay you went to school for? I'm just saying fair is fair and that's just how I feel. |

I totally agree with you! Driving is a skilled profession. Not everyone can do it and it is not admired near enough. If all the truckers took the day off the country would stop. Trucking moves the country and our truckers should be reimbursed what they are worth! Tanya Bons

I would say it depends on who you ask that question to.Have you seen some of the drivers out here.Their title is SKILLED IDIOTS.True we are known as professions in this industry only because it sounds better then what most ppl call us,like just a driver, hey driver or the ever popular stupid driver.I would say your attitude is what either makes you a professional driver or just a driver.I could'nt agree with you more, pay us as professionals, not below minimum wage.I think professional trk drivers is mainly used in ads to lure in more drivers. They have to make it look good ya know. |
