ive been trying to get a job in either civil or sub contractor tipper driver and I have to say you have to either know someone or have male anatomy to even get a job in these industries. Ive tried many places and contractors and am never given a good enuff reason for not getting put on. ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH I can drive rear dumps articulated and HR roadranger tippers and still cant. ITS BLOODY FRUSTRATING yeah Anna Bligh says there are many jobs out there in infrastructure and divelopment but you have to have BALLS to get into it. |

sorry to say you probably won't get in now. I got in before the down turn when they were training. Now that Rudd wants to make the mines pay this tax its slowed down and Im still having fun getting another job. I have 2 years experience. You could try keeping an eye on the mines and contractors. I know that around middlemount QLD they have put on trainees but you will have to have your coal induction and your BMA site induction cards. You can do those in Mackay. or look up the sites. It will cost you around 400 for the coal and about 250-300 for the BMA. The BMA is so you can work on BMA owned sites. It is also called STAX. Good luck. |

Sometimes private owners with a spare truck will put you on. Just keep trying. |

If you want to relocate you could try Smiths Recruitment ( google them) They have civil and mining jobs |
