IT'S HIGHER & NOT ALL BROKERS ARE BAD I ONLY MAKE 10% TO 15%.THE BOTTOM LINE IS IF YOU THINK IT'S CHEAP FREIGHT YOU SHOULDN'T TAKE IT IF DRIVERS WOULD STICK TOGETHER AND DEMAND A HIGHER RATE THEN EVERYONE WOULD MAKE A BETTER LIVING THE BROKER'S DON'T SET THE RATE THE CUSTOMER'S DO

Brokers do set rates. They come in and under bid the other broker to get the haul. When I started hauling trash the pay was $180.00 a load. Then the damn brokers came in and said they can do it cheaper. They agreed on a lower rate and charge us 10% on top of that. Company said we either haul for the broker or we don't haul out of there anymore. When I quit the business the rate dropped to $123.00 a load and they hit us with 12%.. Fuel prices went up and we drove farther to the landfills. The brokers screwed us. Yes, the drivers should stick together and demand more money, but the illegals don't care if they work for $50.00 a load.

All brokers do it. If you want the account, you gotta under bid the last broker. We had no problems getting work and didn't need brokers. You brokers totally ruined the business. No, I'm not in that business anymore.. Can't make any money and refuse to make a broker rich with MY MONEY! Why don't you get a real job and try working for a living? You wanna be a good broker? Then try 5% and give a good bid.. 10 TO 15% is BS! I could go out and do the same thing. I can go out and under bid and charge only 15% and make money sitting on my butt while the truckers bust theirs.. It's funny though, they complain the drivers don't speak English.. Well that's what you get when you let a no good broker go in and cut the rates and stick it to us with their fee.. You get what you pay for.. Trucks that belong in the junk yard and drivers that can't speak English.. They'll work for free.. America is great!

Like I said, we have illegals down here that will work for peanuts and the brokers know that. Good luck finding a driver that speaks English. I hauled trash to the landfills and hauled rock back and made damn good money till these brokers and illegals got into the business. I did it for 10 years and had to quit because it just wasn't worth it anymore. It didn't matter if we parked our trucks, they just got more illegals.. At one time the illegals were buying their class A license from someone on the inside at the DMV.. I can't tell you how many times I'd go to a place and they'd say "thank God you speak English" Florida is screwed! I've considered moving back to NY and get back into it, but just don't know if it's worth it there. I don't even know where to start. I'd like to go back to Westchester county..

That's a very bold statement, I'm a broker working 12 hours a day putting together trucks with customers that without my services would probably never met. I do the leg work with collecting dims weights and photos if needed. I do my homework well into the night and Saturday's long past business hours. I help give the driver the tools to load my freight if they don't understand how to. I have 26 years experience pulling 12-13 axle equipment trailers and have knowledge beyond many drivers out there.
With all this being said after everything I make about $600.00 per month on average. And also I work hard to try and bring the rates up not down.

Since our government refuses to stop illegals from doing anything and deporting them, we are stuck with this mess. Quit giving them money, benefits and licenses. Basically enforce the laws that are already on the books and deport them. This will definitely stop them. If you know of a company is using them, boycott the company and inform law enforcement. If truckers band together to stop them from driving, then companies will have no choice but to hire Americans. Then you can ask for your fair rate. As a broker, I want to give a fair rate. It is my responsibility. In return I ask that truckers also charge a fair rate. This really goes both ways. Stop complaining in the meantime and participate in elections. Elect people that will make the necessary changes. Quit electing idiots like Obama. Do your part and quit complaining about the system. We know its broke. Now lets fix it.
